Who Are We?
In early 2025, two former colleagues were talking and reminiscing about the good old days. With a combined career of 65+ years in the technology field, they decided to launch a second act – and have fun doing it! Having experience working in multiple roles within multiple companies gives strength and insight to what technology is truly important and needed.
A quick Google search yielded nothing for small audit shop software. Everything was enterprise. Web. Cloud. SaaS. What about auditors who worked on a laptop and used Excel spreadsheets to document their work, who didn’t have IT support, whose budget was minimal, who just needed a way to easily do their work? That was when the idea to create essentialAudit was born.
The brainchild for basicAppraisals came while visiting with a friend who owned a jewelry store. He was still using carbon receipts for orders and purchases. Appraisals were manually written each and every time, and a photo would need to be taken of the item and printed out.
Home Inventory was created to solve a family problem – too much ‘stuff’! The garage was full of tools, hunting gear, yard and garden equipment, and water toys. The house had two home offices, antiques, and household items. Being able to take a photo, reference items, and add a detailed description was the answer.
